Life of Van – By Naren Rashid
Van Rashid was born on October 16, 1993 in the city of Sulamania, Kurdistan. When she was three years old her family migrated to the U.S. and finally settled in Dallas, Texas. Growing up in Dallas Van, never succumbed to anything that came in her way, whether it was a broken leg, rainy day, adversity or anything that would bring a normal person down. She stayed until third grade in Richardson.
In 2003 she moved to the city of Wylie and started her fourth grade year. She loved challenges in order to accomplish her goals. Van was environmentally friendly and highly encouraged her friends and family members for recycling to save our earth. She soon realized her passion at the age of 14, becoming a doctor of any sort. She had a leadership personality, and always tried to help others when facing they’re problems. Unfortunately this amazing 17 year old lady died on March 30th 2011.
Her goals on the life were
1. Becoming a brain surgeon
2. Staying abstinent.
3. Attend Cornell University.
4. Adopt Kurdish children from Turkey refugee camps.
5. Smiling a lot more.
6. All I need is 4 more content’s to travel!
7. Go sky diving.
She quoted “Peace and Prosperity can be reached without religion.”
In Van’s love and passion for education her friends and community have established an annual $1,000 scholarship so that a less fortunate student may continue their education.
